Wah Gwaan massive (Hello everyone)

It was Maya Angelou who said, "I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision."This is how my journey begins.
My transition from Jamaica to Canada has been an experience filled with trials and triumphs. My Christian foundation has helped me manage as a wife, mother, and nurse to overcome life's challenges. My interest in nursing came out of a strong desire to help and care for people. This desire has been the driving force and motivation to initially pursue a Bachelor’s in Nursing and then a Master’s in Education.
Nursing has been trans-formative, gratifying, and a worthwhile vocation. As a Nurse, I have worked in many roles within the healthcare system. As a health promoter, mentor, advocate, and teacher, to name a few. As a teacher, I promote self-care, safe medication practices, and healthy lifestyle practices. As an advocate, I support my patients in making their voices heard and promote equity in care as a major part of my daily activities.
I am very passionate about my profession and what it has to offer. I serve a community, which is very diverse with most nationalities represented. I consider it a privilege to serve this community and I enjoy the challenges it brings. The pandemic also brought challenges, some were new and highlighted some old ones in healthcare such as nurse shortages and worker burnout.

My aim is to be a part of the solution by helping those in need of licensure to successfully complete all aspects of requirements, especially with the Objective Structured Clinical Examinations(OSCE) and the National Council Licensure Examinations(NCLEX). Success in these main areas will enable them to begin their nursing practice and in some small way increase the nurse-to-patient ratio in Canada with a focus on Ontario. I strongly believe in nurses educating nurses for a better healthcare system tomorrow.

"Success is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts."
Winston Churchill
